Salem-Keizer Transit Welcomes New Director of CommunicationApr 7, 2016
Salem-Keizer Transit is pleased to announce Patricia Feeny has joined the team as the district's director of communication. She will oversee internal and external communication, marketing, and customer service. Patricia comes to SKT from the Oregon Health Authority where she led strategic communication for the award-winning, half-billion dollar Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project.
"I am happy to have someone with Patricia's background in the role of communication director," said General Manager Allan Pollock. "Her leadership style and experience are exactly what we need right now to move our marketing and branding strategy forward."
In her role, Patricia will develop and implement the communication strategy for the district, including advertising and promotion, direct marketing, news and digital media, and community and stakeholder outreach activities. She also will serve as the district's public information officer.
"From a marketing and strategic communication perspective, this is an exciting time to be working in the public transit field," Feeny said. "Ensuring that we have a robust and sustainable regional transportation system is essential to growing healthy communities. The district's mission is to reliably and safely connect people to places but we are also assuring a connection to life."
Feeny, who has a degree in journalism, has more than 28 years of professional level communication experience. She was a newspaper reporter with the Salem Statesman Journal and later served as a media spokeswoman and communication specialist for both Oregon Health and Science University and Providence Health and Services.
